02/14-4/16    Sagebrush Engineering - OSP & ISP Design Manager /Permit Technician

Brentwood, CA (Bay Area & Central CA Operations)

I was part of team of Network Engineering Consultants, which provides different logistical, operational, and organizational support for different network service providers, 3^rd party telecom vendors, and private customers; within the northern California region. My primary responsibility consisted of managing design plans, modifications, revisions, as-builts, and redlines. With this responsibility, my main function consisted of day to day communications between managers, clients, and corresponding jurisdictions; providing internal reports to staff & all associated team members. This includes the filing & managing of permit applications, fees & payments, and managing important documents with state, city, town, county agencies. Other common duties consist of tracking & monitoring spreadsheets, attending pre-con meetings and (or) conference calls. Once installation, and (or) construction was completed, I assisted with closing out all relative project deliverables. In a nutshell, I manage, maintain, and organize all company data electronically, with the goal of developing comprehensive plans for operations construction.

 I installed, and managed network integrated services for small to medium sized companies. These services supported included company LAN, WAN, Telco, VoIP, and security operations. Basic functions consisted of managing company firewalls, routers, switches, VoIP Phones, Wireless AP’s, workstations, printers, and miscellaneous peripherals.  I also administered assistance with company mail servers, DNS servers, web hosting servers, databases, and all VPN related matters.

I managed, and (or) assisted in the installation, and termination of MM/SM Fiber optic cabling, CAT 5e, CAT 6, & 100 Pair Backbone Copper. Other functions consisted on construction of MPOE closets, MDF & IDF closets, & network stations with regards to EIA/TIA industry standards. Tested & certified all circuits, service locations, and peripherals prior to delivering product to customer.

Installed & provided support for business & residential customer subscribed services, & premise equipment, i.e., Digital T.V services, High Speed Internet, Wireless Access Points and Voice over IP telephony services. Managed equipment parts inventory, & vehicle maintenance.

07/04--10/04    Tek Systems - Fiber Technician (Temp position)                       

San Diego, CA (San Diego Unified School District)

This short 3 month project consisted of installing, dressing, splicing, and terminating Fiber Optic cabling at MDF, IDF, & workstation locations; for the San Diego County Unified School District network distribution system. This included, installing inner duct, mounting wiremold (Panduit), cabinets, racks, fiber trays, patch panels, and fiber enclosures. I tested & certified all fiber strands via Fluke Spectrum Analyzer, and OTDR for troubleshooting, or analysis.

 

04/03--06/04   Field Technician, GTO Communications              

Garden Grove, CA

Worked with crews of technicians augmenting OSP (Campus style), and ISP cabling infrastructure. We constructed pathways using underground trench & placement of PVC conduit, mounting of junction boxes, LB connector boxes, and rigid conduits for vertical risers. I also mounted EMT & flex conduits for horizontal/vertical jogs, offsets, including sleeves for building, or wall penetrations. Structured cabling consisted of CAT 6, 900um MM Gel filled loose tube Fiber Optic cable w/innerduct, and 25 - 500 pair CAT 3 backbone cable. I also installed dedicated 110V/240V power circuits for new cabinets, and racks where needed.

 10/01--03/03    Tek Systems - Lead Technician

Newport Beach, CA (Various Military Bases: NAS Lemoore, CA; NAS China Lake, CA; Camp Pendleton, CA; NAS Fallen, NV)

Worked as an Operations Tech & Team lead for 20 plus team of technicians. Managed installation, and testing of all copper & fiber cabling; including hardware equipment for the Navy Marine Corps Network Infrastructure (NMCI).  This included conduit, Panduit, and inner duct where necessary. Performed walk through inspections, and quality assurance with client & Navy personnel. Submitted as-builds, and certifications for all installed media, and final installation & construction drawings.

Upland, CA (Servicing Orange, Riverside, & LA Counties) 

Assigned to install, test, analyze, and troubleshoot Digital T-1 & T-3 circuit lines for the purposes of voice & data commercially subscribed network service; using a T-Berd tester, and fluke spectrum analyzer. Installations consisted of Demarc extensions, cross connects, provisioning routers, hubs, channel banks, DACS systems, and multiplexers. Performed both local & remote technical support for private clients, LEC’s & CLEC’s with regards to turn-ups, cutovers, & trouble tickets.

Orange, CA (Servicing Orange, & LA Counties) 

I worked with a team of guys surveying, designing, and constructing Microwave/RF remote hub sites, and independent nodes throughout Orange & Los Angeles County. This included mounting cabinets, relay racks, DSX panels, Surge suppressors, patch panels, microwave antennas, MUXES, and channel banks from T-3, T-1 level; all the way down to basic DSL, and POTS lines. We installed all communication media, i.e., coax, CAT 3, CAT 5, 25 to 100 pair; along with fabricating pathways to, and from Rooftops, MPOE closets, and IDF’s.
