I was part of team of Network Engineering Consultants, which provides different logistical, operational, and organizational support for different network service providers, 3rd party telecom vendors, and private customers; within the northern California region. My primary responsibility consisted of managing design plans, modifications, revisions, as-builts, and redlines. With this responsibility, my main function consisted of day to day communications between managers, clients, and corresponding jurisdictions; providing internal reports to staff & all associated team members. This includes the filing & managing of permit applications, fees & payments, and managing important documents with state, city, town, county agencies. Other common duties consist of tracking & monitoring spreadsheets, attending pre-con meetings and (or) conference calls. Once installation, and (or) construction was completed, I assisted with closing out all relative project deliverables. In a nutshell, I manage, maintain, and organize all company data electronically, with the goal of developing comprehensive plans for operations construction.

This short 3 month project consisted of installing, dressing, splicing, and terminating Fiber Optic cabling at MDF, IDF, & workstation locations; for the San Diego County Unified School District network distribution system. This included, installing inner duct, mounting wiremold (Panduit), cabinets, racks, fiber trays, patch panels, and fiber enclosures. I tested & certified all fiber strands via Fluke Spectrum Analyzer, and OTDR for troubleshooting, or analysis.

 

 

04/03--06/04   Field Technician, GTO Communications              

Garden Grove, CA

Worked with crews of technicians augmenting OSP (Campus style), and ISP cabling infrastructure. We constructed pathways using underground trench & placement of PVC conduit, mounting of junction boxes, LB connector boxes, and rigid conduits for vertical risers. I also mounted EMT & flex conduits for horizontal/vertical jogs, offsets, including sleeves for building, or wall penetrations. Structured cabling consisted of CAT 6, 900um MM Gel filled loose tube Fiber Optic cable w/innerduct, and 25 - 500 pair CAT 3 backbone cable. I also installed dedicated 110V/240V power circuits for new cabinets, and racks where needed.

 

 10/01--03/03    Tek Systems - Lead Technician

Newport Beach, CA (Various Military Bases: NAS Lemoore, CA; NAS China Lake, CA; Camp Pendleton, CA; NAS Fallen, NV)

Worked as an Operations Tech & Team lead for 20 plus team of technicians. Managed installation, and testing of all copper & fiber cabling; including hardware equipment for the Navy Marine Corps Network Infrastructure (NMCI).  This included conduit, Panduit, and inner duct where necessary. Performed walk through inspections, and quality assurance with client & Navy personnel. Submitted as-builds, and certifications for all installed media, and final installation & construction drawings.
